Premium Kukicha from Takahashi in Oita. This tea presents an excitingly mild contrast to the tea farm's other teas in our collection, despite this Kukicha also being a Tamaryokucha. A fascinating type of regional green tea primarily produced in Kyushu.

From the moment the bag is opened, one senses the aromatic power of the Tamaryokucha style. The scent of the dry leaves feels like fresh air, containing delicate fruit notes and hints of forest. Altogether, a very uplifting and appetizing aroma.

The scent of the leaves after the first infusion is thick and lush. It comes closer to the experience of the taste in the mouth. Hints of melon, grass, sweetness, and hazelnut form a captivating stream of aroma. In the mouth, a rounded fruity sweetness is felt, which again brings thoughts of melon. The taste also has a refreshing minerality, slightly creamy notes, and a long lingering finish. At no point is there any trace of bitterness.

This Tamaryokucha is an interesting change for lovers of Kukicha/Karigane, which is usually produced as Sencha or Gyokuro.

*The tasting notes are based on the first infusion.

Brewing suggestions: 6g in 70ml for 30 seconds at 80 degrees. The tea easily yields up to 3, or more, infusions with slightly gradually warmer water.
