We present a tasting menu consisting of Namazake releases from our breweries. Namazake is a category of sake that is loved by sake fans. This sake is unpasteurized and thus sent to market without the stabilizing heat treatment that eliminates active enzymes and yeast residues from the finished sake. Namazake has a fresh and crisp quality, with uplifting acidity, sweetness, and aroma. But like everything else in the world of sake, there are nuances and stylistic shifts within the same genre. These contrasting shifts will be on full display at the tasting when we present our growing selection of hand-brewed Namazake. This popular genre is growing in demand around the world. We recognize this at Manaka when we talk to customers, so it is with great pleasure that we can offer you a complete evening in the tasting room with a program of unique Namazake, where we will taste them together chilled, at room temperature, and heated. We will also taste the same sake in a pasteurized version for comparison, thereby promoting understanding of the importance of heat treatment for the character of a sake. We look forward to meeting you and sharing an evening of great taste experiences and a warm atmosphere in the tasting room.

  • Presentation and serving of at least 4 different sakes
  • Duration approx. 90 min

The tasting will be hosted by Jakob Emdal, founder of Manaka and sake sommelier, who has been working professionally with sake in Copenhagen since 2016. Primarily with his own imports from Japan's leading sake breweries, as well as supplying sake to Copenhagen's restaurant scene.

Manaka is based at Jægersborggade 10 in Nørrebro.

If you have a restaurant booking after the tasting, please mention this before the tasting so that we can time it. The tasting may run over time.

Read before booking: Refunds for tickets will not be issued in the event that you cancel or no-show. Tastings are held in small groups of up to eight guests. If, for example, three or four guests cancel, the evening's tasting will also be canceled. To avoid this scenario, we have chosen this policy.
