The sake and cheese presentation is a special evening that we always look forward to. Sake contains lactic acid, glutamic acid, umami, among other things, but has a mild and pleasant acidity level overall. In other words, sake is one of the best things to complement the flavors of cheese. It is exciting not only gastronomically, but also because this sublime sake pairing has its origin in the West. It is sake that tells the world how unique it is in complementing food, all food. We have built up a collection of premium sake that is incredibly good with cheese, so we can offer a completely unique experience in the tasting room.

The tasting is in the company of Jakob Emdal, founder of Manaka and sake sommelier, who has worked professionally with sake in Copenhagen since 2016. Primarily with direct import from Japan's leading sake breweries, as well as supplying sake to Copenhagen's restaurant scene.
Manaka is based in Jægersborggade in Nørrebro.
If you have a restaurant booking after the tasting, please mention it before the tasting begins so we can time it. The tasting can easily go over time.
Please read before booking: Refunds of the purchase amount for tickets will not be issued in the event that you cancel your tickets, or dont show up. If 3-4 guests cancels, the tasting itself will also be canceled because it is a small group. To avoid this scenario, we have chosen this policy.
