Hitoshi Morimoto (1974) is based in Bizen city of Okayama where his family kiln has been active for several generations. Mr. Morimoto studied at Tokyo Zokei University before getting an apprenticeship with an established potter in Mino city. This experience has led to work in several different styles. In addition to the unglazed Sumikiri Bizen style, he also produces Mino-inspired Kiseto and Kuroseto ceramics, as well as Kohiki and the unique Shira/white Bizen variation.
